Thought it was time I started a "public" blog, so here it is :) Not entirely sure what I'll post here - it just won't be rants or private things. Which probably doesn't leave much!
I'm a software engineer with a very wide experience of languages and both high & low level programming of PCs. I've worked with everything from DMA access of the AdLib sound board through QB4.5 in DOS to WCF through C# in Vista, not to mention reams of experience of other technologies such as .NefCF, EVC4, SQL, JavaScript, PHP and various scripting languages.
I learn by doing, and prefer to use the wealth of information online to expensive books. For every book which recommends a methodology, there's one which demonises it.
Currently I work in an "Agile" team, though sometimes we are less agile than others and sometimes the "agile" ideal doesn't really fit with what we need to achieve.
