What the hell is this thing? There appears to be a sign beside it. Searching for ["Guys head" crater] did not yield the results I expected...

Apparently it's this: 1972: a feasibility study commissioned by the Government to build a barrage across half of The Wash to capture the freshwater from the four main rivers, to improve navigation through sea locks, to provide recreational facilities and an area of land for a power station, etc. was undertaken. This led to the circular trial bank/bund being built to the east of Sutton Bridge and the Nene. The purpose of which was to act as reservoirs but the report concluded it would be too costly. http://www.washestuary.org.uk/details.cfm?id=117
I'm a software engineer with a very wide experience of languages and both high & low level programming of PCs. I've worked with everything from DMA access of the AdLib sound board through QB4.5 in DOS to WCF through C# in Vista, not to mention reams of experience of other technologies such as .NefCF, EVC4, SQL, JavaScript, PHP and various scripting languages.
I learn by doing, and prefer to use the wealth of information online to expensive books. For every book which recommends a methodology, there's one which demonises it.
Currently I work in an "Agile" team, though sometimes we are less agile than others and sometimes the "agile" ideal doesn't really fit with what we need to achieve.

Thanks, Mark! You certainly seem to be good with the ol' Googling.
I'm enjoying my FME experience, by the way!
